And I get it.
As a business owner, as a dad, as a human being just trying to keep it all together — I really do.
I’ve had mornings where I’ve stared into the day with no energy, stressing about money, worrying about whether I’m doing enough to support my family.
In fact, just this morning, I had one of those “poor me” moments. I was tired after a busy weekend, had a rough night’s sleep, and honestly didn’t feel like doing anything.
But I caught myself.
I took pen to paper and wrote out how great the weekend really was.
Instead of focusing on how tired I was, I focused on how much joy I got from it.
It changed my whole outlook.
Where You Put Your Energy Matters
I want a life filled with laughter.
A life where I’m fit and healthy.
A life where I can afford trips with my family.
A life where exercise is something I enjoy, not something I have to do.
A life where I’m surrounded by people I love.
So I put my energy there.
I move my body. I eat well most of the time. I check in with myself. And when I can’t see the good, I write it down until I do.
That’s what putting your best foot forward looks like.
It’s not perfect. It’s not a 6-pack or a 10k run.
It’s choosing, again and again, to work toward the life you actually want.
