Finding a gym after relocating isn’t always easy, but Joan knew she wanted a space that pushed her forward while keeping her comfortable.

“I had recently moved to Tralee and was looking for a training facility to meet my needs. Evolution has certainly done that.”

“I’m very happy that I’m motivated to show up for and enjoy training. I always come out feeling energised.”

“I’ve had a few physical challenges but have been consistent in dealing with them as they arise.”

“I want to continue to get stronger and improve my flexibility and balance. Into the future, I would like to climb Carrauntoohil!”

Advice for Anyone on the Fence About Starting

For anyone unsure about starting their fitness journey, Joan’s advice is simple:

“The first step is always the hardest. Once you get in the door, everything else seems much more manageable. Being in the gym on a consistent basis is good for mind, body, and spirit. Take that step—I assure you, your future self will thank you.”

As a therapeutic counsellor, Joan knows firsthand the connection between physical and mental health.

“It’s always been part of the process of my practice to advocate physical health. I practice what I preach.”
