When Claire Kelliher joined Evolution Fitness in October 2024, she was in a place many people find themselves—low motivation, constantly tired, and feeling physically unwell.
She had stopped all physical activity in recent years, even something as simple as going for a walk after work felt like too much. Her body felt different, age-related muscle loss was becoming apparent, and she knew she needed to make a change.
Fast forward a few months, and now Claire is showing up consistently, feeling better, and learning to trust the process.
A New Type of Training
Having done aerobic-based training and long-distance running in the past, Evolution Fitness was a whole new experience for Claire. Strength-focused sessions felt completely different, and it took time to adjust.
“It has taken me months to appreciate how good the sessions are. Very different, but better.”
This is something we hear a lot—stepping away from what you’re used to and trusting a new approach can feel uncomfortable at first. But, as Claire has realised, it’s worth it.
More Energy & A New Outlook
For Claire, the biggest change so far has been how training makes her feel.
“I really enjoy the sessions, they make me feel ready and enthusiastic for my day ahead.”
It’s easy to focus only on physical results, but training is about so much more than that. When you’re energised, motivated, and enjoying the process, everything else starts to fall into place.
The Power of Consistency
When asked what she’s most proud of, Claire’s answer was simple but powerful:
“Consistency.”
Showing up regularly is the biggest factor in long-term success. Even when she wasn’t sure about the process, Claire kept showing up, and now, she’s seeing things come together.
“I am just at a point now where I can appreciate what I am working towards. My progress has been slow to now, but it’s all coming together. I am excited to see what I can actually achieve this year.”
Shifting Focus: Strength Over Appearance
One of the most exciting parts of Claire’s journey is how her goals have shifted.
At first, it was about looking better. But now?
“My focus has switched from wanting to look better to wanting to build strength and endurance.”
This is what happens when training becomes part of your lifestyle. It stops being just about aesthetics and starts being about how you feel, how you move, and what your body can do.
Challenges & Learning Curves
Like any journey, there have been challenges.
For Claire, tracking progress and remembering exercise names have been the toughest parts. But here’s the thing—progress isn’t about being perfect. It’s about continuing to show up, trusting the process, and getting better over time.
Her Advice to Anyone Thinking About Starting
If Claire could go back and give herself some advice, it would be this:
“Just start. This is a premium gym with very interested coaches who are genuinely vested in optimal outcomes for every member. Communication is integral to their methods with constant monitoring of progress and goals. They also facilitate groups that are friendly, welcoming, and, most importantly, fun. We are all there to work out, but it never feels like work.”
Excited for the Future
Now that Claire has found her rhythm, she’s excited to see what she can achieve in the year ahead.
Her journey is proof that it’s never too late to make a change, try something new, and rebuild your strength and energy.
